Well its been a busy busy last few days. The store opened up a few weeks ahead of time, I went into the hospital for surgery, Had a big giveaway and planned a trip to Disney. Crazy.
So for the next few days I will be insanely busy trying to get orders and prizes mailed out before our trip. We leave on Wednesday. So basically that leaves today to get my sewing done.
I also have a birthday coming up in a few days. The big 35. I cant say that I'm excited about it, is anyone ever excited about 35? Turning 35 has made me reflect a little though on some changes that I want to make in my life. I'm overweight, I drink to much, don't exercise nearly enough, and well my health isn't as great as I would like. I have tons of quilt projects sitting in a box, lots of ideas floating around in the brain, and many other things in my life i just want to get prioritized and organized.
So as I was getting ready to go in for surgery and planning that, my husband bought me The new IPhone 3GS. I am in love! It does everything at my fingertips. I can check orders, emails. Get driving directions and find the nearest post office. It has all kinds of awesome applications. Wanna know where the hidden mickey's are at Disney, wanna know the wait time for Space Mountain? there is an app for that! Wanna know how to make the perfect Cosmo? there is an app for that! Wanna know now much fabric you need to make a 6 inch boarder on a queen size quilt? There is an app for that to! There is an app for everything!I love that i can watch movies on it or listen to my newest audio book!
I can take it to the fabric store and quickly figure out my fabric length and keep track of my projects!
So I think for a birthday gift he definitely hit a home run! If your on the fence about getting one of these, don't be. I'm not sure how I ever lived without mine! It was a lifesaver while I was in the hospital and while I was on bed rest!

All Finished

One of the reasons I decided to go with my own website was wholesale. I had been getting several wholesale requests, and well it wasn't anything I had ever thought of. I am still amazed everyday that even 1 person wants to purchase these, much less somebody who wants to buy in bulk!
So I was Overwhelmed , Excited, Nervous by my first wholesale order! These are going to be sold at the Creative Photography Retreat for CK Media! Just to have my items at an event like that is pretty cool! The whole family did the happy dance and well Im pround to say.. The order is finished and out the door. 100 Camera straps ..

The Fun Job

I'm a fabric Junky, Honestly I really am. Take me shopping to the Mall, or or any other store, and I will buy 10 shirts all the same in different colors and be done with it. In and out. Take me to a fabric store, and well that is a whole different story. That is where I have to touch, try, blend together to get the right color combinations. I can spend hours in a fabric store just imagining the possibilities!
I buy my fabric from many different sources. Hobby Lobby, Joann's, my local quilt store The Quilters Cottage. I also buy my fabric online thru Etsy. The Etsy fabric ladies allow me to buy pre matched bundles in small quantities. As you know its hard enough to buy something online without being able to see or touch it. Some of my favorite stores on etsy are Fabric Shoppe, Daffodil Hill fabrics and patterns, and Rainbow fabrics.I also have to start buying fabric a little while before I use it. I like to get it cut, and numbered for the inventory. So right now is a great time as I'm inventorying the last of the summer items and getting ready for the fall stuff. I have been so excited by what I have found!
From Timeless TreasuresFrom the Taxi Collection1 of 3 different Halloween duo's that will be in the storeAnd on to the fallI was really excited to find this fabric again, It was a big seller! So it was an exciting weekend of shopping, opening packages and the like. I cant wait to get this stuff on the shelves!

About Me

People have been making things by hand since long before I was born, so I didn't invent the "handmade" movement. I am even shocked to be a part of it. I find it soothing, involving, and immensely satisfying making something by hand. With 3 boys and a husband those feelings don't come around very often.

My love affair with crafting started many years ago with crochet, and knitting. That evolved into scrapbooking, and digital scrapbooking, which readily accepted my love of photography. I wouldn't say I'm a great photographer, but I am an awesome photo editor!

After spending many years in front of my computer I wanted a change, and wanted to try something different. This is where my new love of fabric came into play. Of course, I could find room for it, emotionally and, well, the space. It takes up alot of space..

So here I am today.. You may ask what fabric has to do with camera strap covers? Well, they allow me to play with lots of different fabrics, and also dress up my camera. I get to play with texture and color, my computer and photos. But as my husband is so keen on saying, "How many do you really need?"

That's where my shop comes in. All of my items are an appreciation for the unique object, for my individual creativity, and for the process of creating. This is why you will always see new things in my store.

I'm a mother to 3 wonderful boys, with a very supportive husband, and a very hyper puppy. I am an entrepreneur, crafter, inventor and engineer. I am a published memory artist. Most importantly....I'm just a girl, playing around with pretty things that make me happy..
